GOAL:

Create an endowment that will provide Freeport High School students with need-based scholarships for four students of up to $5,000 per year for four years for college, and up to $4,000 per year for four students for two years of technical/trade school. Scholarships will be awarded to students who show financial need as well as academic promise.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee consisting of school and community members.

Recipients will be provided with a mentor for the duration of their post-secondary college, certificate, and/or trade school experience.

FINANCIAL PLAN:

Raise $2,000,000 in cash and pledges as a base for a permanent endowment by the end of 2022. This endowment will generate income at 4%, providing $40,000 per year for scholarship assistance.

All funds are professionally managed by Bath Savings Trust under an investment policy adopted by the Board of Directors of the Scholarship Foundation.
